Fall is almost here, and it is my favorite season of the year! My students love having themed centers to use in our classroom like these fun fall leaves counting cards! These cards help students practice counting from 0-20, and are perfect to use whole class or in centers.
LET’S PREP!
To prep this activity for my students, I printed all of the pieces on cardstock and laminated for durability. Then I cut out the each piece. I separated them into two piles: leaf bags with the numbers on them, and the multi-colored leaves.
LET’S PLAY!
This game is very versatile and can be played either in centers or even whole class as a fun counting game! I played this game whole class with my students first to make sure that they would be able to play independently in centers later. The only thing that we needed when we played the game whole class was a pocket chart. I had students come up to the front and pick a leaf bag with a number on it. They placed that card in the pocket chart first. Then, I had them count out the correct number of leaves to match that leaf bag.
This game includes numbers all the way from 0-20 which makes it really easy to differentiate for students! When my students play this game in small groups, they don’t always have to use a pocket chart. They can easily start with a leaf bag, and then line up the leaves next to that bag.
My students LOVE using these fall leaves to count, and they go perfect with our fall leaves alphabet puzzles.
Another fun fall activity that we LOVE to use during our math centers are these fun candy corn matching puzzles, and fall leaf number order cards!
We love using our FALL CENTERS and HALLOWEEN CENTERS during our math rotations and reading rotations.
