These pumpkin alphabet puzzles are perfect to use throughout the entire season of fall! My students love matching the cute pumpkins to the correct piece of pumpkin pie.
LET’S PREP!
To prep this activity for my students, I printed all of the pieces on cardstock and laminated for durability. Then I cut out the each puzzle. Make sure to also cut on the “zig-zag” line to separate each pumpkin from the pumpkin pie!
LET’S PLAY!
I first played this game at my teacher table with students during our reading rotations. I always like to introduce centers this way so that students understand how to play before it becomes an independent center! My students love our normal alphabet centers, so I knew that these themed ones would be a big hit!
I separated the cards into two piles: pumpkins (capital letters), and pies (lowercase letters):
Students practiced picking a pumpkin from the pile, and then finding the correct piece of pie that matched:
When my students play this game independently, I also encourage them to line up all of the pumpkins in ABC order first before they start matching! This way, they are working on two skills at once. We use our Fall Leaves Alphabet Puzzles the same way!
Check out my ABC Bubble Gum Matching Game, and Easy-Peasy Alphabet Centers for more fun with the alphabet!
It is ALMOST time to start playing our Halloween Spider Alphabet Match game, AND our Witches Brew Beginning Sound game! I know that my students are going to love using these new games.
I just LOVE using Halloween themed centers in my classroom! My students are always so engaged when our centers match the current holiday season. 🙂
