Working on color words is so much fun for students! Once students become confident with color words, they can use these words to add “color” to their writing! These color word puzzles are a fun and easy activity to help students master these words.

LET’S PREP!

To prep this activity for my students, I printed all of the pieces on cardstock and laminated for durability. Then I cut out the each piece. I separated them into two piles: color words and paint blobs.

LET’S PLAY!

I first played this game with students in a small group so that they understood how it worked! Each student started off by picking a color word from the pile:

Then, they had to find the correct paint blob that matched!

We kept working until all of the colors were matched correctly!
