I love finding fun ways to keep my students engaged as we are getting ready for the holidays! This Thanksgiving themed song/wiggle break is perfect to get my students’ energy out!
I started singing this song with them on Friday (which was also the day after Halloween!!) and my students LOVE it. Basically, I just have them stand up when we need a “stretch break” and we sing “Head Shoulders Knees and Toes.” BUT instead of repeating “knees and toes” we say “gobble gobble” and flap our arms like we are turkeys. They think it’s hilarious and its the perfect way to get our wiggles out! Keep reading to download a free printable or powerpoint version of this fun song. 🙂
This wiggle break was the perfect thing to do before we started working on our Thanksgiving “Thankful Flipbooks.”
These flip books are such a great keepsake for families. We love doing them each year!
Another one of my favorite November projects is our Turkey Math Craft. My students love making this cute turkey, and I love that it incorporates our math standards too! Win win!
Finally, our Thanksgiving Sight Word Readers are such a perfect tool to use during reading groups this month.
I use these during our reading groups, and I love seeing how confident my students are while we read them!
